Tarawikh And Witir
By the way, how do you really spell it - tarawikh or terawih..??

Anyway, just got back from terawih and the ustaz for tazkirah tonight was none other than the very imam who gives Friday khutbah at Masjid Al-Azim Pandan Indah. His name reminds me of the Pakistani leader in the late 70's & 80's : Zia-ul Haq.

Pleasant young man he is. Nice voice too...

Tonight's tazkirah teaches me something new (at least to me it is..). Ustaz told thru a Hadith (I didn't bring my notepad, couldn't remember the whole hadith verbatim) that the Witir though it is sunat, may be considered wajib by some in accordance to the Imam Hanafi's madhab.

According to our prophet Muhammad S.A.W., the witir is the numero uno solat sunat di sisi Allah, among all the other solat sunats. And, those who left the Witir out, the prophet said that they can be considered "bukan dari kalangan umatku." Phew, heavy ooo.. (Or in much modern lingua franca - Fuyo!!)

And, to see that some just walk away after the 8th rakaat of the terawih, mmm what a pity... (Hey, I used to do the same too in my younger years... ha ha.. at least this year I haven't done so..)

You learn new things everyday...
