Korea and Japan
Both of East Asia's rep in the World Cup weren't able to continue. Though we may not expect them to win the World Cup, their inability to progress to the 2nd round is somewhat heartbreaking, especially with the Korean team. Thirty years ago, we may not be rooting for Korea because they were our greatest enemy in football. The Koreans were so mean that we even had a play called after their name -- remember "main Korea"? (i.e. wasting time especially by kicking the ball out of bounds.) As they cried for the demise of their team, we can always be proud that an Asian team can actually compete at this level. Congratulations Korea. And Japan too.
